Lyndon Town School Baseball Field Dedicated to Messier

A ceremony was held at the baseball field of the Lyndon Town School on May 12, 2018 dedicating the field in honor of Norman Messier and his lifelong efforts and devotion to the youth of the area.

Norm served in academics as a:

  • Teacher
  • American Legion Boys State Volunteer
  • School Superintendent 

He was heavily involved in Babe Ruth League since 1972:

  • Coach
  • Umpire
  • Vermont State Commissioner
  • New England Regional Commissioner        2006-2015
  • New England Regional Tournament Director
  • World Series Task Force Member              2000-2015
  • Member of Hall of Fames
    • New England Babe Ruth Hall of Fame - 2012
    • Babe Ruth League Hall of Fame - 2015

And, as a civil servant he served as:

  • Town Moderator
  • Lister (assessor)

​The ceremony was attended by several Babe Ruth dignitaries including Vermont State Commissioner Bernie Gonyaw and New England Regional Commissioner Barry Jordan who was also representing Babe Ruth League, Inc.
